Its been five years since Eminem had released an album, but his hiatus would come to an end. On and off relationship with his wife, his daughter, losing his best friend, and drug issues. He vanished from the hip-hop scene due to some personal affairs he was dealing with in his life. “Encore” would be the last album Eminem released for quite a while. At the end of the video, it turns out they are just simply there to vote. In the music video, Eminem gathers an army and marches up to the white house. In the song “Mosh,” Eminem was strongly critical towards president George W. “Encore” had its fair share of serious songs as well. Critics wanted the song off the album, and BET stopped airing the video. The song caused a lot of controversy due to Eminem’s lyrics and his music video. In 2004 Eminem released his fourth album “Encore.” Critics say this is one of his weaker projects, because it didn’t put up numbers like his past work had. The album featured the single “Just Lose It,” where he parodies Michael Jackson, Pee-wee Herman, MC Hammer, and Madonna. The album featured songs like “Without Me” and “Till I Collapse,” which was used to accommodate the popular video game “Call of Duty.” Eminem discusses his rise to fame and his status in the hip-hop community on the album. “Eminem Show” has also gone Diamond since its release in 2002. It wasn’t until May of 2002 that Eminem would release his third album, the “Eminem Show.” The “Eminem Show” was the best selling album in 2002, as it sold over 1.3 million copies in the first week. “The Real Slim Shady,” “The Way I Am,” & “Stan.” “Stan” is probably one of the more documented songs off the album, due to its story and Eminem’s creativity. The album contains three singles that are very well known by his fans. The following year, Eminem would release his second album the “Marshall Mathers LP.” It sold 1.76 million copies in the first week, and has gone Diamond selling 10 million copies since being released in May of 2000. This album would set the tone for Eminem’s long illustrious career, as it has now sold over 4 million copies. Eminem would become known for his crazy word play and obnoxious stories. Although it is one of his most popular albums, it is also one of his most controversial. The “Slim Shady LP” was released in February of 1999, and went triple platinum by the end of the year. Marshall Mathers, better known as his stage name Eminem, has had quite the career since releasing his debut album in 1999.
